Squareism and Travels

“Squareism and Travels” is my reinterpretation of landmarks, sites, and nature from the most meaningful places I have visited. I began with Tree and Mountains, a painting inspired by a dark and cloudy picture of a bright and beautiful day. I used short, square brush strokes to create a sense of depth which could be understood both near and from afar.  In some painting I explored the presence of nature in an unnatural environment, surrounded by cement buildings, roads, and lights. I then contrasted these with other paintings in which my subjects were in their natural habitats.
